Executive Coaching – Global Investment Manager
We coached the leader of the European arm of a global investment manager at a pivotal point in the firm’s development. After three decades of rapid growth the business needed to review its product strategy and focus on planned succession for its founders.
The leader realised that to retain talented individuals who could become his successors, the firm’s strong values and long-term philosophy were necessary but not sufficient: young professionals were seeking more autonomy and a clearly-defined career path. This suggested a change in leadership style more suited to the needs of a ‘Gen Y and Z’ workforce. A 360 degree feedback exercise identified the changes this leader needed to make in his leadership style to attract and retain the firm’s future leaders. The 360 feedback also helped this leader articulate his ‘Leader’s Legacy’ for the business, what his legacy goals were and his action plan to achieve these in time for his planned departure from the business.
